The Bais Yaakov School was established in 1942 with a kindergarten class of 2 girls. From its inception, the school has bee dedicated to providing the highest quality education and serving its students' unique learning needs. Unprecedented growth has pushed enrollment to close to 1,300, making Bais Yaakov the largest private school in the entire Baltimore Metro area.

Bais Yaakov maintains four schools housed in three facilities on two campuses. The elementary School and Pre-School are located in Owings Mills, while the Middle and High Schools are in Mt. Washington.

Burgeoning growth of the community and our excellent reputation were the factors behind the large increases in enrollment. Over the years, the school has had to move or expand more than ten times.

The beautiful new High School and Middle School facilities share twenty-six acres of rolling land, including sports fields, and outdoor eating areas.
The school’s operating budget is funded primarily from student tuition receipts. Donations from individuals, foundations, and other organizations supplement the school’s operating budget.

Bais Yaakov is proud to be one of the pillars of strength in Baltimore’s Jewish community.
